Kushambi (Uttar Pradesh): A huge reserve of unlawful weapons was recuperated from a house here on the clue of a functioning helper of late mafia-turned-lawmaker Atiq Ahmed's pack, police said on Monday.

Ahmed's associate Abdul Qavi was brought to Kushambi on Sunday for making the recuperation, Director of Police (SP) Brijesh Kumar Srivastava told correspondents.

The seizure was made close to Qavi's home in Bhakanda town under Sarai Akil Police headquarters region along the 'kutcha' way that goes towards the Yamuna Stream.

At his case, on Sunday an unearthing was completed at some separation from the kutcha course which uncovered 10 guns of 12 drag, 10 guns of .315 drag, one pistol of .32 drag, 88 live cartridges, and 25 unrefined bombs covered there, the SP said.

Based on the recuperation, Qavi was reserved further in one more case under Area 3/25 of the Arms Act and 4 and 5 of the Hazardous Substances Act at Police headquarters Sarai Akil, he said.

The SP said Qavi has been held in locale Prison, Lucknow since his acquiescence before the Extraordinary Legal Judge CBI court, Lucknow, in the BSP MLA Raju Buddy murder case.

On May 30, Abdul Qavi, captured regarding a case enrolled here, had informed Kaushambi Police concerning unlawful weapons he had kept stowed away.

Qavi was shipped off police authority for a day and a half on June 3 at the request for the Boss Legal Judge to make the recuperation.

Atiq Ahmed and his sibling Ashraf were shot dead in Prayagraj the evening of April 15 by three men acting like media people.

Both were blamed in the homicide for Umesh Buddy in February this year and the homicide of the previous BSP MLA Raju Buddy in 2005.
